It's hard to describe the feeling of discovering that the season premiere of "Tool Academy 2" has somehow snuck up on you (I suspect the season started earlier than hoped because of the abrupt cancellations of "Megan Wants a Millionaire" and "I Love Money 3"). And as great as that feeling was, it was usurped by the feeling brought on by the first ejected Tool refusing to leave the Academy and the host screaming at him to get out. It has been awhile since I laughed out loud at something on TV, but this did the trick.
Thank you, VH-1. And thank you, Tools.

You're Up, Free Radio
I'm almost sure that no one watches this show, and it seems to be the one show that VH-1 doesn't reair on a loop, but every time I stumble upon "Free Radio," I laugh hard several times in the course of an episode. In that sense, it is easily the new "Prime Time with Jiminy Glick"-- a faux-celebrity-interview show I don't expect I'll find funny but inevitably do. And, as hinted at in my last "What I Liked," the recent interview with Danica McKellar is a clear highlight of my current TV watching, and I'm still laughing at it (and Corey Feldman was in the same episode . . . it's like they're booking the show just for me--plus they recently added the great Gerry Bednob to the cast). I finally found the clip online, so enjoy:

He Aames to Please
Lately I've been thinking that I may finally be over reality TV. I'm tired of watching attractive people mate and cry and mate again on "The Real World." This season of "The Surreal Life" is dead in the water. "Viva La Bam" is starting to wear thin. And if Pauly Shore revealing he's a sex addict is supposed to make me interested in watching a show, I fear there's been a grave mistake made by someone at TBS.
But then, mere minutes after I walked into my apartment Sunday night, I tuned into "Celebrity Fit Club 2" and watched Willie Aames, covered in what have to be the worst tattoos I've ever seen, having a complete meltdown, first when awakened at 6 in the morning for an exercise session and then when recounting his anger on the Celebrity Fit Club set. It may be the best reality TV since Stephen slapped Irene on "The Real World: Seattle." When he attacked his own front door, I laughed very, very hard.
And you will, too. Do yourself a favor and tune in to one of the 1,832 reairings of the episode this week.

Here we are, face to face
I'm a little late on this, but it needs to be said, so...
I'm not sure why I wasn't consulted by VH1 about their "100 Greatest Kid Stars" poll (see full list below), but I do know that if I had been, I wouldn't have given Alfonso Ribeiro the shaft. How, VH1, can a Broadway star ("The Tap Dance Kid"), commercial actor (Pepsi), and featured performer on two beloved sitcoms ("Silver Spoons" and "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air") be below Jeremy "Ben Seaver" Miller? What else has that loser done? I mean, I liked "Growing Pains," but I would have voted for Boner before Ben. And Lara Jill Miller from "Gimme a Break"? Michael Oliver from "Problem Child"? What?
It's enough to make me want to stop watching VH1. But Gary Busey's on "Celebrity Fit Club 2," so all is forgiven.
